Galaxy S10 Leak Details Samsung's Price Increases

With Samsung taking some significant risks with its controversially redesigned 10th-anniversary Galaxy S10 range (including the most exciting one), you might be surprised to learn how much you will have to pay to buy one…
In a new report, the popular (and consistently accurate) Indian site 91mobiles reveals Samsung will increase prices for Galaxy S10 models to such an extent they are close to Apple’s premium iPhones.

91mobiles breaks down the new pricing as follows:
  • Galaxy S10e - Rs 50,000 (~$700)
  • Galaxy S10 - Rs 65,000 (~$900)
  • Galaxy S10 Plus - Rs 75,000 (~$1,050)
These are significant increases on the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus when they launched in India last year (approximately 10%) and it sees the range line up closely with Apple’s iPhone XR ($750), iPhone XS ($999) and iPhone XS Max ($1,099).
91mobiles says this Galaxy S10 pricing comes straight from a Samsung distributor. It’s a strange decision from Samsung given Apple CEO Tim Cook recently admitted iPhone pricing had become too high and the company was “rethinking” its strategy.
That said, you will get a lot for your money. 91mobiles states the Galaxy S10 Plus, in particular, will ship with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 1.5TB of storage (1TB internal, 512GB via SD card) and welcome battery increases. No mention is made of the so-called ‘Beyond X’, a 5G Galaxy S10, which has been quoted as costing close to $2,000.
