The Realme Pad has been in the news for a couple of months now. Recently, the company announced the launch date for its first-ever table in India. The Realme Pad will be released on September 9 in India.
With just a few days left until the launch of its first tablet, the company has started teasing some key features on a social media platform and ecommerce platform, Flipkart where the Realme Pad will be sold in India, has revealed the display specs.
We still need to wait for the official launch to get an idea of the pricing and determine whether it’ll compete against Apple's iPad, Galaxy Tab S7 series or rival Samsung’s A-series and Lenovo budget tablets.
Realme recently entered the laptop space with two new models 一 Realme Boom Slim (i5) and Realme Book Slim (i3). On September 9, the company is entering tablet space, which honestly in India we think, needs a bit of refresh. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming Realme Pad:
Cut to the chase:
- What is it? Realme’s first tablet
- When is it out? September 9, 2021
- How much will it cost? Around Rs 20,000 to 25,000 (expected)
Realme Pad release date and pricing
The Realme Pad will make its debut on September 9 in India. At the same stage, the Realme 8s and Realme 8i budget smartphones will also be unveiled. As for the availability, the Realme Pad, like its phones and accessories, will be sold on Flipkart.
As for the pricing, going through the confirmed specs, leaks, and rumours, we think the Realme Tab might be priced under Rs 25,000 in India. Like most of its product lineup, the Realme Pad is also expected to launch in China and some parts of Europe at a later date.

Launching on September 9
Realme Pad design
The Realme Pad will measure just 6.9mm thickness beating the Apple iPad (10.2-inch which measures 7.5mm) by a fair margin. However, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and the Tab S7 FE measures 6.3mm and the iPad Mini measures 6.1mm. Realme’s CEO, Madhav, in a tweet also confirmed that the slate will real-ly light which means the tablet might weigh around 500 grams or even less.
Further, the teaser video also reveals the Realme Tab to come in Gold colour options 一 however, we can expect the tablet to come in at least two colour options. The same video also gives us a glimpse at the back of the tablet which reveals the single rear camera along with a subtle Realme branding on the bottom.
Lastly, the video also reveals curved edges and a SIM slot which means the tablet might come with support for LTE along with Wi-Fi. The volume rockers are placed on the right side of the tab while the selfie camera is present on top of the screen while you hold it in landscape mode 一 making it convenient for online classes and meetings.
Realme Pad display
The complete specs of the display has been revealed on Flipkart ahead of the launch. The Realme Pad is said to come with an “Ultra display” which will be the highest resolution screen in this price segment. The Realme Pad will come with a 10.4-inch WUXGA+ display with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels and an 82.5% screen to body ratio.
The company hasn’t revealed the peak brightness of the display, the type of panel, or the refresh rate yet. We will have to wait for September 9 to know more about the display specs.
Realme Pad specs
While we have solid information on the display and design of the upcoming Realme Pad, the rest of the specs are still under the rock. According to a post on Weibo from Digital Chat Station, the Realme Pad will be powered by MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. The Helio G80 SoC is based on 12nm architecture with up to 1.8GHz clock speed. It is said to come with 4GB of RAM, but rumours also point towards the 6GB of RAM option as well.
The device is said to run on Android 11 一 it will be interesting to see how Realme will build software on this device as it’s the company’s first tablet. We are expecting the company to add a couple of features to take advantage of the large screen.
Earlier leaks also pointed out that the Realme Pad will come with a built-in stylus.
Realme Pad: what we want to see
Long-lasting battery
With the upcoming tablet having a big screen that is likely to be aimed at online classes and meetings, good battery life is a must as these use cases will take a lot of time. Fast charging would be an added bonus here.
Rich audio experience
One of the primary reasons why many people opt for a tablet is for entertainment purposes. With a big screen, we’d also like to see Realme offering a rich and loud audio experience.
Consistent performance
One of the areas where the budget and mid-range tablets suffer is when it comes to performance over the long term as they tend to slow down. With Realme entering the space, we’d like to see the Realme Pad offer consistency in terms of performance and also with respect to the software.
