NYT Strands today (game #706) - the answers

The answers to today's Strands, game #706, are…
- DULL
- MUNDANE
- DREARY
- TIRESOME
- HUMDRUM
- SPANGRAM: WATCHINGPAINTDRY
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
This game came with the longest spangram we’ve seen since October, with the 16-letter long WATCHINGPAINTDRY, grabbing a huge chunk of the board.
That spangram appeared to me as if it was in the shape of a soccer/football goal, which is possibly why I thought the entire quiz was made up of words that describe my team, Brighton & Hove Albion’s, deathly DULL performances this season as we flop about in the “Boo-o-o-o-ring” middle of the league after an endless succession of draws and losses that will hopefully change tomorrow afternoon.
Anyway, I digress. I’m sure the theme was much more general than a dig at the English Premier League, but I had to keep my interest up somehow.
Yesterday's NYT Strands answers (Friday, February 6, game #705)
